Chrysler Repair: Year of manifacture, chrysler lebaron, 6 digits

Question
Hello my friend.I'm not sure of my car's manifacture year(the car is a Chrysler LeBaron) and the documents that I have do not show this info but the year the car was registered in Bulgaria 1995. The car's manifacture should be either 1983 or 1984. Is this written somewhere on a plate? The Vehicle Identification Number is 1C3BC56E6FF202836. What do all these numbers mean? Can you help please!?Thanxx

Answer
Hi Miro,
Here is the decode of the V.I.N.
1 = made in U.S.
C = Chrysler
3 = Passenger car
B = manual seat belts
C = LeBaron
5 = trim level, premium
6 = 4 door sedan
E = 2.2L turbo
6 = a "check" digit for VIN verification
F = 1985
F = Manufacturing plant (Newark, New Jersey)
remaining 6 digits is manufacturing sequence number

So your car is an '85 model, but the date it was actually built is shown on the body code plate (7 lines, lots of spaces on each line) along with alot of other information. The 85 model year probably began rolling off the production line in the summer of '84.
Best regards,
Roland
