Chrysler Repair: Dinging Noise (Weird Question!), 1990 chrysler lebaron, chrysler lebaron

Question
Hi, I own a 1990 Chrysler LeBaron Coupe.  I've had it for about a year and a half now and since then I've had a lot of repairs done on it (battery, transmission, engine, fuel pump, water pump, etc.)

Anyway, a few months ago my car started doing this weird thing where it will make the "dinging" sound that you might hear when the seatbelts aren't buckled or the lights are on.  It just starts dinging while I'm driving and doesn't stop until I take the key out of the ignition.

There's another interesting thing about this.  I have a digital odometer that seems somehow linked to this "dinging" noise.  What happens if that if the digital odometer reaches the exact number "8435" then it will reset to "0.0" and the next time I come to a complete stop the dinging noise will start.  When the dinging noise starts, the "0.0" turns into "8427".  And then the cycle just continues.  If I take the key out of the ignition and start it again, the car acts fine until it hits "8435" and then it's the same thing, over and over.

I have no idea why it's doing this and all the people that I talk to seem to be confused as well.  Do you have any advice?  Thanks.
