Classic/Antique Car Repair: Fuel Lines, fuel line hose, 67 ford

Question
67 Ford Mustang get not fuel to Carb. Checked Lines and they all seem fine. Engine last started 2003, fuel tank was dry and there is a spark at the plugs. Changed fuel filter and filled tank with 6 gal. Thanks for any support.

Answer
it is possible that the fuel pump is weak or inop undo the fuel line/hose that supply's the carburetor your going to check for pressure from the open end of the line/hose by attaching a section of like size hose to the line/hose so that you can catch the fuel in a jar or bucket. now be careful just try a small crank at first if fuel does not flow out than try a bit more to see if the pump will prime itself. DISCONNECT THE + WIRE ON THE IGNITION COIL and tape it so that it does not spark against anything. you don't want spark for this test. if you don't have any flow at all while cranking replace the fuel pump if you do have a good stream of fuel then your problem lies in the carburetor most likely a stuck float in the fuel bowl. hopes this helps and be careful
