Classic/Antique Car Repair: rear brake drum 1954 dodge coronet, rear drums, brake job

Question
I can't seem to be able to remove the rear drums as I want to do a brake job on it.
the fronts came off after removing the large nut.
I removed the large nut on the rear, loosened the shoes and still can not remove them-I also tried a wheel puller to no avail.

Answer
Short of using a torch to cut the drums off the car a wheel puller is the way to go. I have had to on occasions used a torch to warm up the part of the hub that goes right around the axle to break the grip of the tapered shaft. Apply the heat while the puller is exerting pressure. Oh, are you using a heavy duty drum puller that you slam with a hammer to tighten?
