Classic/Antique Car Repair: trans removel, speedometer cable, bell housing

Question
hi: i have a 1929 ford and i can not figure out how too get the trans out.could you please help me.thanks

Answer
The first step is to remove the floorboards and the gearshift.  Then disconnect and drop the driveshaft tube and all the stuff attached to it so that the transmission can move back about 2 feet without hitting anything.  You might find it easier to take the whole rear end out of the car do to this.   Also disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission.

Then unbolt the bolts that hold the transmission to the bell housing and the transmission should move back and out of the clutch pretty easily.
