Classic/Antique Car Repair: car doors, e mail address, ford pickup parts

Question
We "inherited" two doors (driver, passenger) of what may be a 1952 Ford pickup along with windshield and window glass. Is there a way we can determine exactly what we have, determine value and find a buyer? We could send pix to a knowledgeable person. Thanx

Answer
I don't know any way to do this other than by finding someone with a similar vehicle and getting him to compare the parts for you.   In an odd coincidence, I happen to own a 1952 Ford pickup, so if you want to send me pictures of the doors, I can probably tell you if that is what you have. As for the glass, that would only be a guess, as without precise patterns, it is just about impossible to identify glass.

But, if all you want to do is find a buyer, my advice is to not worry about what they are, just run them on eBay, showing enough pictures so that a potential bidder can see if that is what he wants.  Show dimensions on the windshield and mention in the heading that you think it may be Ford pickup parts - the bidders will e-mail you with corrections if you are wrong.  The way to run something like this on eBay is to start the bidding VERY LOW and set no reserve - someone will buy it, and if it is a valuable item, it will sell for a fair price. If it isn't a valuable item, it may sell for very little money, but at least the buyer has to pay the shipping, and it's out of your sight.

If you want to send me pictures, reduce them to a small file size (I have a very slow dial up connection) and post a follow up question to me and include your e-mail address - I'll e-mail you with my address so you can send the pictures to me.  I can't post my e-mail in this response - I've learned the hard way not to do that - I get inundated with spam that way.

I'll help if I can.
