Classic/Antique Car Repair: Windshield Replacement, classic ford pickup, ford pickup truck

I have an old classic Ford pickup truck.  And I need to get my windshied replaced. I plan to paint my truck in a year or so.  Here is my question --- should I wait on the windshield replacement until after I get my paint job?  Or will it hurt to do the windshield first? What is your opinion?  Thank you for your help.

There are two ways to look at this.  The glass man may mar your pretty new paint when he changes the windshield, but if he's good, and you tell him you'll crack his skull open if he does, maybe it won't happen that way.

On the other hand, if you do the glass first, then you have to worry that the paint shop will do a sloppy job masking around the glass  and it will look bad.  

My thought is to go ahead and have the glass work done first - it is much easier to clean up after a sloppy masking job than to repair a dent or a deep scratch in new paint!
