Classic/Antique Car Repair: 6 volt to 12 volt conversion, 51 chev, j c whitney

i have a 49 and 51 chev fastback...both are 6 volt systems and i want to covert to 12 volt
can you advise a step by step on how to convert to 12volt and is there a package deal out there somewhere for wiring harness ?

ok i never did that before but it shoult not be to hard just a lot of work, did you try the co.   j.c.whitney as they sell everything.
as you will have to start from scratch- fan lights,altanator wireing system coil ? so i would look into jc whitney for a kit as that would be your best bet good luck
