Dodge Repair: 1996 Intrepid car alarm issues, orange wire, kind remarks

Question
QUESTION: Roland,  I have one more picture.  I tried to ask a follow up question be the option wasn't there.

I looked at the wires going into the door and they are all fine.

So to understand.  1) get a fob, 2) jump out the light green wire with the orange stripe to a good ground while the car is on and the alarm is alarming. 3) then it should stop 4) then I with your instructions and the new fob program it.

I did not have a picture of the traction control module but I am assuming the instructions will tell me what to jump to program?

ANSWER: Hi Randy,
The ignition switch doesn't have to be 'on' or the system alarming when you ground the light green/orange wire when disarming the theft system. So do that now to be sure it works out that you can disarm it. Then verify that the engine will start and run.
Did you find the black 6-pin plug on the traction control module? That will be employed to program the fob. Yes, I will give you the details when you have a fob.
Thanks so much for your ratings/nominations/and kind remarks.

QUESTION: Sorry to be a pain Roland however.  Right now i have the negative battery terminal disconnected.  SO i am assuming i need to reconnect that prior to jumping the green/orange wire?

ANSWER: Hi Randy,
Yes, that would be correct as the entire electronics would be 'off' at this time. As soon as you reconnect the battery clamp the theft system light on the dash should light up again as an indication that the system is still armed. Then by ground/unground the light green orange wire that should disarm the system Of course you want to have the black plug inserted into the bcm at this time also and connect to the wire by probing into the socket of the plug for that wire with a fine pin, then jump from the pin to ground and then disconnect the jump. The light should go off if you have successfully disarmed the system.

QUESTION: Roland, WOW....IT WORKED (not that you had any doubt). YOUR THE BEST! I disabled the alarm and the car runs.  So now will it stay this way so long as we don't use the power locks?
My questions are now:
1) can I put the dash and all the other things I pulled apart back together with the exception of the traction control switch or would you recommend I leave it apart till I get a fob?
2) recommendation of a place to get a fob if you can?
3) you mentioned a connector for the traction control.  Would this be the plug to the back of the switch or some other unit I need to look for?

Lastly,  is there a limit on the correspondence I have with you like 3 follow-up questions?

Thanks,
Randy

Answer
Hi Randy,
That is good news. Correct, that if you don't use the power door locks when leaving then the arming process should not begin. (I may have erred in saying that using the door key to lock up will start the arming process also, but that doesn't happen until the '97 or '98 model year as best I can tell. But check it out nonetheless before putting it all back together. I would wait until you have a fob programmed into the remote module so that in the event that the system is accidentally armed as the result of using the power door locks you have means of disarming that doesn't require a 'jump' at the bcm black plug.
I believe any fob from a '94-96 LH body model will work, but I don't know if those are easy to get at a pull-it-yourself wrecking yard, or on eBay, or at a dealer (but check to see what the dealer parts counter would charge to start with, also get the part number. The '94 manual shows it to be a 3-button type[lock, unlock, trunk]) rectangular in shape. I notice that ebay has over a hundred fobs that id by part number rather than by year model.
If the plug at the back of the traction control module switch is black, has 4 wires, but has pinw for 6 wires, then that would meet the description in the manual of what you need to do the fob programming. The plug is associated with the traction control module, but if the car didn't have that feature then the plug was apparently in the same location but attached to the bezel of the dash instead.
I think there may be a limit of 3 follow-ups in which case simply ask a new question.
