Dodge Repair: Engine exchange issue with yrs, crank shaft, fly wheel

Question
I have a 2000 dodge Dakota 4.7 V8 SLT. We had to replace the motor with a 2003 4.7 V8. Everything is the same except the crank shaft piolet barring. So, I purchased an 2003 replacement baring inorder to get everything together. EVERYTHING is attached correctly including new spark plugs, all plug wires are in great condition. We put it on diagnosis computer and the computer said there is no reason that it shouldn't be starting. I defiantly tries just wont run. I was thinking that maybe I would need to have my computer reprogrammed for the 2003 yr motor. What is your thoughts?

Answer
u have the wrong engine for that year computer  it will never start with that setup
U will need to remove the engine  replace the fly wheel  that cam with your old engine and also replace the cam sprocket with your year engine as well.  Your mechanic should have known about this kinda stuff.
