Where is the oil pump located on a 99 Dodge Dakota 5.2L V8, and how difficult should it be?

The pump is located inside the oil pan on the bottom of the engine. With the proper knowledge and tools it is not to hard to replace the pump. It is not however a job I'd recommend to a novice. You may want to consider brining it to a reputable repair facility for replacement. One question though, why do you need to replace the oil pump?
