Dodge Repair: Oil sludge, 2004 dodge durango, us army corp

Question
Hey Kevin ..... I have a 2004 dodge Durango with the 5.7 hemi and have found so many reviews about engine failure due to oil sludge. It seems to be the most stated problems about the dodge and Chrysler vehicles. I've read a couple of reviews where people stated the ports in the motor were to small and on an angle causing sludge to clog the port, and then causing the oil to heat up and turn into sludge? I would just like to hear from a proffesional like yourself the actual cause of this problem and if there is anything I can do to prevent it.... Besides changing oil on time....... Although almost every complaint I read they all were on top of maintanence.. And even had the receipts to prove it, but Chrysler will not put a recall on the motor or warranty it. I only have 44,000 miles on it... Change the oil myself every 4,000 with full synthetic that states it cleans up to46 percent of sludge with the first oil change..... Don't know how true that is but I'm really nervous about this slide problem. Thanks for taking your time to read this. Any advice or information you could provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
from what I have seen and been told by the instructors it was the grade of oil being used. They no longer make it so its not an issue. The US army corp did a test on 300 something engines and they all sludge to some degree with the grade of oil. The 2.7 is more prone to it because of the smaller holes  but any engine will do the same if allowed to cook the oil.
I own a 98 Concorde with a 2.7  has 197k on it I just rebuilt the engine because the water pump gave up  filled the block and blew up piston number one with the high compression.  I yanked out the motor and tore it down to bare lock  not a drop of sludge was in there.  I use the 5w 30 oil  and I apparently had not gotten a hold of the grade 3 oil that has caused all this issue
