Dodge Repair: seatbelt tensioner, seatbelt light, ken ross

Question
Hi: This may not be in your field of expertise but I see no other Dodge types listed, so here goes: Before I bought my 2001 Caravan SE in 2005 the dealer fixed (replaced?) a seatbelt tensioner which apparently had been causing the airbag light to come on sometimes. A year later I have seen the light come on again..this smorning it came on, I unbuckled my seat belt and rebuckled it and the light went off. Maybe a coincidence? My question is how serious could a seatbelt tensioner malfuncting (if in fact) be and can it cause ethe airbag to deploy?
many thanks for any advice

Answer
first off no it will not cause the airbag to deploy... when the airbag light comes on it means that the airbag "cannot deploy" I spoke with ken ross today the production design engineer for the caravan line, he expressed to me that you should have the dealer check at their cost the work they performed and that he doesnt see why the sealtbelt would ever set off the airbag light it does activate the seatbelt light along with chiming.. something isnt right so do take her back in. god bless and goodluck  Joe
