Dodge Repair: timing belt, zero tolerence, dodge dynasty

Question
The timing belt broke on my 93 dodge dynasty. It was at a idle and simply acted like it was out of gas. The shop states it is a zero tolerence motor and they beleive it can't be repaired. Said they tested the compression on a cylinder and it didn't pass? Is this car junk?

Answer
The shop fed you a line of crap... Replace the belt, and it should be fine. My 89 Dynasty blew a belt like that recently, and after I replaced it it worked fine. As far as the compression goes, all the cylinders won't have the exact same level of compression. If the engine does turn out to be junk it can easily be replaced, being a 1993, it's possibly worth it.
