Dodge Repair: Suspicious antifreeze leak at dealer, antifreeze leak, dodge neon

Question
I took My 2000 Dodge Neon to a dealership to have a oil change and a minor tune up for $126.00 CDN
When i got my car home and my wife moved the car out of the driveway there was a one foot wide wet spot on the cement driveway? Antifreeze.
My car has never leaked a drop up to this point of anything. I took it back to the dealer and they said the water pump had to be replaced. Could the water pump go this quickly? Does it sound like the mechanic could have helped things along?

Answer
Danny,
Kinda makes you wonder about your mechanic? Normally water pumps should last just a little bit longer. Unless he decided to loosen up a bolt and the leak is coming from there, and they want more money? I would have it inspected by someone else.. Ty
