Ford Repair: 2003 ford explorer, coolant temperature sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor

Door ajar light comes on and interior light comes on alarm will go off by it self then some times while riding down the road the temperature gauge will go to hot I pull over cut the car off and instantly the temperature gauge goes back to normal?

replace the engine coolant temperature sensor and be sure coolant if full. the problem with the door is either two concerns, you have a bad door ajar switch located in the driver's latch or if you look between the driver's door and body you will see a large black hose where the harness goes through. push the grommet into the body on the right. use a razor and slice the rubber away from driver's door. inspect this wiring as you will find a few broken or freyed wires
