Ford Repair: headlights flashing, dash area, electrical issues

My 02 Escape has always had electrical issues. Sometimes the electic locls stop working then start again, different warning lights go on-I take it to be checked there is no problem they get cleared, and the radio acts up too.
Today the headlights started flashing. I thought the battery connections were loose since this happened before and that was the problem, but the battery looks OK. They flash to the same 'beat' as the four way flashers would. (They work OK).
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks!

first thing you need to check, by the driver's left foot, look uo into the dash area. you will see a bunch of wires and connectors. disconnect some of these and look for signs of corrosion . this was a very common concern as a was leak develops and gets on to these connectors.- check this and get back to me
