Ford Repair: 2001 Ford Escape Running Rough, ford escape, plug wires

I have a 2001 3.0 V6 Ford Escape.  The check engine light is staying on and the car is bucking and acting like it is missing.  We changed the plugs and the plug wires but didn't make a difference.  When it rains it's worse.  Any ideas?

   Is your check engine light on and flashing if so a scan may help determine where to look for
the problem. Most likely would be a coil if it is ignition related. You probably needed a tune up
anyway so the plugs and wires was a good idea but i would have it scanned to get an ideal which cylinder to zone in on as far as checking what is causing it.
