Ford Repair: Air Conditioner on a 1999 Ford Taurus, fuse panels, fuse block

Question
I was just driving my Ford Taurus and the AC Unit just went totally out on me out of nowhere and won't come back on.  It seemed to be working fine right until it happened.  I'm looking for any idea on how this could have happened, and some general idea on how much it would cost to fix it.

Answer
lost freon because a hose ruptured-clutch coil went bad-cycle switch-burnt connection in fuse block under hood (most common) start car turn a/c on then wiggle fuses and relays in fuse box over radiator-bad control head-there are several things it could be but i would check fuse block first we are having trouble finding fuse panels here-can't price for you to many variable where you live-cost of doing business-economy-quality of work and parts from the garage. good luck
