Ford Repair: Explorer screech, explorer 4x4, battery cable

Hi Mark,
I've got a '93 Explorer 4X4 with 239,000 miles on it.
I recently changed the battery and positive battery cable. I believe that everything went back in the way it came out. Immediately upon starting the engine after this repair I'm getting a loud, high pitched screech from the from top of the engine.
I can't tell if it is alternator, A/C, P/S or something else. I've traced everything that I've put in and nothing is hitting any moving parts.
What the heck could this be?

take belt off and start vehicle and see if noise goes away it it does turn each pulley by hand check for roughness/noise if they all feel ok and noise is gone replace belt. also while belt is off look at all pulleys and make sure nothing is touching them. good luck.
