Ford Repair: engine lock up 2 hours after an oil change, rod bearing, high mileage

Question
i recently had my oil changed. i have a ford escort sport w/ 142,000 miles. i use 10w30 high mileage oil. i never had a problem with it starting. i had the oil changed and they put in 5w30 synrhetic blend oil. 2 hours after the change,i stopped and did an errand. i went to turn the car on and it wouldnt turn over. i checked the oil and it was full, i changed the battery and still nothing. i had it looked at and was told the engine locked up....it had oil in it, it ran for 2 hours after the oil change. did the different grade of oil effect my engine. can it cause slugg build up to move aroung the engine and get into values or cyclindar chanbers causing it to lock up?
please help me figure this out....i just had the oil chaced. my car had oil in it before the change too and ran fine.

Answer
Hello Tammi, The oil is not going to cause this issue, especially that quickly. I would question the oil filter possibility having the check valve stick causing lack of oiling to the engine or a oil pump or rod bearing gave out because of 142k miles. I would almost get a second opinion on the engine. Thanks Tony
