My car is making a clicking sound intermediately when I shut off the engine

probably exhaust and/or exhaust shields cooling down if intermittent.

what area of the car is it coming from engine compartment area or inside-is it loud/very noticeable or sorta quiet to where you would have to listen to hear it? if it is coming from inside it may be one of the actuators for the a/c system as they reset everytime you turn off vehicle. if from outside open hood and get an idea where from passenger or drivers side and let me know. also has anything different been happening with car?
