Ford Repair: 2000 Ford Windstar, cruise control system, odometer reading

Question
I have a 2000 Ford Windstar.  The Cruise Control System stopped working about a month ago.  I checked it last night and it was working again (after no repair etc). I drove for about 5 minutes then I heard a "clicking" as a "switch".  At that moment, the cruise stopped working, the odometer reading went to ------- , the speedometer went to "0" and the air conditioning stopped blowing cold air.  What made this happen and how can I get this repaired?

Answer
you probably have a blown fuse possibly caused by a bad brake/cruise cut off switch screwed in the master cylinder-go look at the master cylinder there should be a two wire switch in the front of it or on the bottom-unplug it and see it the connector is wet with brake fluid if so there is a recall on it-leave it unplug as it can cause a fire-brake fluid leaking through the switch travels through wiring harness to cruise unit and shorts power supply and ground-you can't leave it like that long because brake fluid will leak out. after unplugging it you can replace blown fuse. if that is not the problem have it checked out and good luck.
