Ford Repair: 2000 Ford focus, catalytic converter, ford focus

Question
i am having trouble with my focus it shakes when stopped the muffler sound like  put put put put it hasitates to drive up a hill and the temperature raises i was told it might be the catalytic converter but i wouldnt know just changed the spark plugs on saturday but still the same.

You can look under the car at night to see the catalytic converter.A glowing converter is a bad sign.Is the check engine light on.If so have it checked.If not,try changing the fuel filter.If you get the codes read,let us know what the codes are so we can more accurately diagnose you're problem.
