Ford Repair: ac overpowering my heater, climate control, ac compressor

Question
I just bought a used Sable to drive to work. Now that it's getting cold out I get hot air when selecting "vent". But when I use any of the heater selections it's like the ac is on and defeating the heater operation. The heater positions work great if I unplug the ac compressor but I can't leave it that way or I'll ruin the compressor. Any suggestions?

That sounds like one of those problems you just have to rule out a whole list of things.To the best of my knowledge,unplugging the switch on the compressor will not ruin it.I am wondering why it is kicking on?You're climate control has probably went bad.
