Ford Repair: 4.6L to C4/6, sean hyland, performance shops

Question
Is it possible to mate a C4 or C6 transmission to a 4.6L DOHC modular motor for use in an off-road race truck? If so, what parts do I need and where can I get them.

You know, I know it can be done because I've heard of it and seen it done, but I don't have any firsthand knowledge of how to do it or what exactly it takes.  I'm sure you'd at least need the transmission, maybe a new flexplate, some sort of adapter or special bellhousing to mate the engine and tranny, and probably some sort of adapter linkage for the kickdown cable.  You might check around with some of the bigger modular performance shops to see what they have to say.  I'd try Sean Hyland Motorsports...they're very well versed in all things Ford 4.6L.  Hope this helps.
