Ford Repair: 67 Ford Mustang, ford mustang, 67 ford

Question
I have a 67 Mustang with a 200 ci 6cly. I have a 89 mustang with a 5.0 HO motor and auto trans I want to put in my 67. Has this been done before?  Tom

Answer
Tom-

Sure...it's actually not all too uncommon.  It's generally refered to as "resto-modding".  To be perfectly honest though, I've never worked on one so I'm not exactly sure what goes into the swap.  I'm sure the K-member would have to be swapped for one that would fit a 302 (302s really haven't changed since they were created) and you'd probably have to do some wiring modifications and suspension stuff but all in all it shouldn't be much more difficult than any other engine swap.  I'd contact some shops around you and see if any of them have tackled a project like this.  Anything can get done with a little money.  Hope this helps.
