Ford Repair: Taurus Wagon Oil pan and gasket, engine oil pan, taurus wagon

Question
I own a 98 Ford Taurus Wagon.  I have had lots of trasmission work, but currently have an oil leak.  I am wondering if $340 is high for parts and labor to repair a oil pan seal and gasket.  The worker told me that he had to replace the gasket, as well as the seal to stop my leak.  Since I know nothing about cars, I want to make sure I am not being "taken".  Please let me know.  Thanks.

Answer
If this is the engine oil pan, the labor should be most of that, even if they are replacing the front seal which is more involved.

You can always get another estimate from a different shop if you feel it is unreasonable. Nothing binding you to this shop is there? Keep in mind that many shops won't give an estimate on something like this without looking at it first, even if the first shop tells you what the problem is.
