Ford Repair: 1996 ford winstar, plug hole, spark plug

my 1996 ford winstar van overheated, mechanic said i needed a new water pump....put the water pump in & then realized that coolent was shooting out of the front left spark plug hole when we tried to star it.....Am i screwed or what?.....thanx!

  Let me guess...you've got the 3.8L V6 in that van?  Winstars, especially the 3.8L models, have a history of head problems.  Some blow gaskets, some heads crack, some do both.  To put it simply, the only way antifreeze could find it's way anywhere near your spark plug hole would be if you had one of those 2 problems.  A mechanic will have to pull the head to check the extent of the damage, but my guess is that you'll probably have to replace the head.  Hope this helps.
