Ford Repair: clicking, salt sand, warm weather

Question
hey how are you doing. i have a 2000 focus. i get up to 60+ mph's and i hear a clicking sound.it sounds like it's a relay opening and closing. it does it more in warm weather than in cold. also if i pass a tractor and trailer the wind push causes it any help thanx.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It sounds like the CV joint boots have ripped and the grease that is there to lubricate the joint has been contaminated with dirt/salt/sand---road yuck. Take a look under the vehicle and inspect the boots. There will be four, two inners and two outters, respectively. IF any of the boots are ripped, you found the problem. Also, does this noise happen while making sharp turns?
Hope this helps,
Erik
