Ford Repair: 1991 Mercury Tracer, mercury tracer, battery cables

Question
My 91 Tracer died out on me and will not restart. It doen't even try to start. I lost all power to the inside of the car, no dome lights, no dash lights, all dead. The headlights do work. The battery if fully charged. I replaced both battery cables a few days ago. I checked all the fuses and they seem fine. Although the fuses under the dash have no power to them with the key turned on. Does the ignition switch control the power to the inside of the car?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Have you checked ALL of the fuses with a test light or volt meter? Saying that they "seem fine" isn't a real indication of actually being good. I would start there. Recheck the fuses and connections.
The ignition switch does have a part in the connecting of power to the inside of the car, but not all.
Hope this helps,
Erik
