Ford Repair: Removal of front axles-2000 V6 Cougar, mercury cougar, prybar

Question
Do you have a easy way to remove the front axles on a 2000 V6 Mercury Cougar?
I can't find the halfshaft remover Ford calls for.

Answer
Hi Daniel,
We just use a large prybar to remove the axle from the transmition. This is after you remove the brakes and rotor, remove the large axle nut and seperate the lower ball joint and remove the outer joint from the outer hub. You may need to remove some engine and/or transmition mounts to have room to get a prybar in between the axle and transmition.
GOOD LUCK!

Jeff
