Ford Repair: ac, mustangs unlimited, valve size

just bought a ac expansion valve and it is marked 134a, it was bought for a 1966 t-bird which of coarse in 66 134a wasn't around . i intend to use r12. should i use this valve? thanks Carl

I think the 134a is a part number rather than a valve size. If it was bought for a 1966 T-Bird, then you should be able to use it.....Be advised that if you are intending to use R12 coolant, it is very hard to come by and I would recommend converting and using R134.
