Honda Repair: 1993 Honda Accord lx cooling problem, honda accord lx, 1993 honda accord lx

If I am stopped at a red light or anywhere with the car started the temperature hand rises but when I drive off or turn on the air conditioner the temperature hand goes back down to normal. I have replaced the thermostat and the motor in the fan. Could it be the fan switch? Also are the two fan switches on the car because I went to the auto parts store and they asked me if I wanted the fan switch that was in the thermostat housing or on the left side of the radiator by the water outlet. So if the fan switch is the problem I need to know if I need to purchase two of them or one and which one do I need to purchase.

Latoya, with the engine running have the hood open and see which fan(s) operate when the a/c is turned on. The rad fan is on the pass side and the condenser fan is on the drivers side. If only the condenser fan runs you have a concern with the rad fan circuit. The switch that controls the rad fan is the one at the thermostat housing. The other switch is to run the condenser fan if the rad fan can't keep up. RICK
