Honda Repair: 2000 Civic ex compressor replaced, electrical reset, s reservoir

We replaced the compressor on the civic, problem is the when trying to charge, the comprssor doesn't start. Trouble shot the wires and got the compressor to run but it wont stay on with normal wiring? Does it need some type of pressure, or electrical reset? I disconnected battery.Is there a sequence to this repair after the compressor is installed? Your help is much appreciated.

It has a pressure switch located in the receiver/dryer which is under the p/s reservoir.  You will need to have a certain amount of pressure in the system before it will come on.  Make sure you are charging through the low side if you are trying to charge with the system running.
