Honda Repair: fuel problem??, fuel delivery system, hot weather

Question
Bill; I own a 92 Accord with a 2.2L it has 300 000 KMS, the car doesn't owe me a penny but until now she ran like a dream, hate to see her go. My problem is a progressive one, this summer the car would not start in hot weather, I had to turn ignition on/off numerous times for it to start, later in year noticed fuel smell and what looked like leakage from top of tank, now in cold weather car starts fine but smutters a little, runs fine for a few minutes but then sputters excessively until you get the RPMS up and then smooths out, replaced spark plugs but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, hate to put alot of monet into it. Thanks and I commend you on a great service, Jim

Answer
Jim:
I would check the fuel delivery system to make sure it is okay. The fuel from the take could be from the return line in the fuel system, make sure you do not top off your gas tank when filling up. Your fuel pump may be going out and not delivering enough fuel, that is where I would start.
Hope this helps.
