Honda Repair: 1989 honda prelude only starts when it wants, honda prelude, 1989 honda prelude

Question
My son has a 1989 Honda Prelude. We are having trouble with it because it only starts when it wants to. It seems to be worse in hot weather.I have been told there is a sensor that might be bad but I don't know what sensor it is. Can you help. Thanks.

Tracie:
If the car cranks and does not start, check the fuel system, if the car does not turn over, check the ignition system. You will need to do a step-by-step analysis to find out what is failing. You can purchase a repair manual from an auto parts store and there will be procedures on how to test.
Good luck.
