Honda Repair: 88 accord timing belt, leakdown tester, leak down test

Question
I'm pretty informed of the possible bad news I could discover as I attempt to replace the broken belt. I've heard many "expert" opinions on the headaches.....bla... I was traveling about 50 mph when she went.
To get to the point, I'd like some solid advice, preferably a basic step by step process or whatever you recommend,
I'm not a total dunce, so you need not be overly detailed. However, I'm no expert, so give me the safe route.
                     Thank you much,

Answer
Dave,
For me to give you the step by step process of replacing your broken timing belt would take me all night and my fingers would probally fall off from typing. I recomend you get a service manual if you would like that much info.
I can help you by giving you some pointers.
First thing I would do is a leak down test. This will tell you if you have a bent valve. This way you don't have to go through the trouble of replacing the belt, only to find that you need to remove it again in order to take the cylinder head off. If you don't have a leakdown tester, you can probally rent one.
Again, you need to buy or borrow a manual in order to see how to replace the belt. It's just too much to explain here. I do not know your skill level or tool situation.
Thanks for the question,
Gene
