Hyundai Repair: no comunication with interface, hyundai accent, open circuits

i have a 1999 hyundai accent that failed massachusetts state inspection due to a cel. The shop it was at put to 02 sensors in it and kicked it out the door.  now its in my shop with another check eng light on.  my gennisis tool wont connect with the pcm and retrive any codes. only the a few moduals are even supported.  i have good power and grounds at the dlc connector,  Any idea's???  iam kinda lost,   thanks for the help.  keith

This only modules on this vehicle which can be interrogated are engine, trans, and air bag.  It'd be my suggestion to first attempt a different scan tool/code reader.  Some tools have difficulty communicating with certain vehicles.  If the second tool won't communicate, then I'd say you need to check the integrity of the communication line between the DLC and the ECM and verify there are no open circuits or shorts to ground.
