Hyundai Repair: check engine light on hyundai elantra, hyundai elantra, vaibhav

Question
Hi

I have a hyundai elantra 2000 model(77000 miles) and has a check engine light on for the past 5 months. I got it checked and they suggested i need to replace the O2 sensor and catalytic converter. However the strange thing is that light goes off after 3 days and comes back again. I have no issues with car since 5 months and it runs smoothly. Can u suggest a quick fix so that i can disable the check engine light or get it taken care of permanently.

Answer
Hello Vaibhav,
If trouble code/s stored in the ECM is showing  O2 sensor and catalytic convertor problems, these parts need to be replaced to permamently solve your problems. Sorry, there is no quick fix for that.I do not reccommend to disable your check engine light.
