Hyundai Repair: My Hyundai Accent will not start., hyundai accent, fuel filter

Question
I own a '98 Hyundai Accent that is a five speed. Before I bought it the the starter was changed.
The car starts sometimes.
When I try to pop the clutch and jump start it, it starts occasionaly. There are no clicking sounds like it's the starter. It sounds like it wants to start, but just doesn't. When I drive I shift into the next gear up and step on the gas, but the car bogs down a bit, like it's not getting enough fuel to shift at it's maximum. I've had a few people look at it that said it might be the fuel filter and/or pump. I took it to a garage and they changed the fuel filter (just one filter was changed and im not sure if there is two.) and the spark plugs. It ran fine for awhile, and the bogging down when I shifted up a gear stopped, but then it started to not start again. My friend looked at it and said he heard the fuel pump turn on, but he could be wrong.

Any ideas on what could be causing this headache of a problem?

Answer
Hello Crystal,
I think it is time to have your fule pump checked. It might be making noise but  does it have enough pressure. Also it has an internal check valve to keep pressure at a certain level for restarting and that valve might be giving up. So have your fuel pump checked.
