Hyundai Repair: P0444 Code, purge valve, fuse box

Question
I have a P0444 code on my 2002 Elantra with 73K miles.
I know what this code is but What is the fix for it? Which valve needed to be replaced?

Thanks...

Answer
P0444 indicates that the ECM has recognized an open circuit in the circuit for the purge control valve.

This could be caused by the purge control valve itself, but I've never seen a purge valve fail electrically.  You should start by checking whether the purge control valve is properly plugged in and has battery voltage in the white wire when the key is in the "on" position.  If the battery voltage is not present, you need to find the wiring problem between the engine compartment fuse box and the purge valve.

The resistance of the purge valve itself should be about 26 ohms.  If that and the other items above okay, I expect you have a problem with the wiring betweem the purge control valve and the ECM.  It would also be possible that the problem is in the ECM, but that would be rare as well.
