Hyundai Repair: 03 sante fe knocking, coolant levels, sante fe

My 03 sante fe had been sitting at my office for about a week.  When I started it the engine started clanging..like metal to metal.  I let it run for a few minutes but the noise got louder.  I have about 103K on it and have changed to synthic oil about a year ago and had the oil changed about a month ago.  I checked the oil and coolant levels which were fine.  I haven't had the timing belt changed could this be the problem or something else.

If it's a valve tap, you probably need to drive it a few miles for the lifters to pump back up.  If the car sits for an extended period of time without being run, the lifters can bleed the oil out of them, causing there to be too much valve clearance until they pump up again.
