Hyundai Repair: Steering wheel on 2001 Accent, windshield wipers, wheel balance

Question
I rarely do highway driving, and I noticed yesterday, on the highway, when I would get up to 70-80 mph, the steering wheel really starts vibrating and shaking.  I still have full control of the car, but I don't like how it vibrates so as I pick up speed.  I was wondering if that was normal?

One other thing, with my windshield wipers, at one time they were almost seized up to the point where it took just over 10 seconds to go up and come back down.  Now they go at a normal speed, but the passanger side wiper barely makes contact with the window.  Is it a big deal to replace thw wiper linkage?

Thanks again!
Thanks

Answer
The vibration you describe isn't normal.  Typically it's caused by a wheel balance problem.  Your local tire store should be able to balance your wheels for you.

If the wiper is not contacting the window, you'll want to check the blade and arm for proper flexing.  A problem with the linkage won't cause the wiper to not contact the windshield.
