Isuzu Repair: 1995 Isuzu 3.2L V6 Engine - ticking at times, hydraulic lifter, honda passport

Question
The actual vehicle is a 1995 Honda Passport, which you know is a 1995 Isuzu with Honda Badges.  Approx. 129,000 miles.  I can relate this sound to a noisy hydraulic lifter on a Chevy V8. This engine may be overhead cams with no lifters as I know them.  The noise appears to be on the Passenger side of the motor.  The spark plugs are quite deep. My Wife drives this car.  Np apparent oil usage or engine miss...your thoughts.

Thank you,
Ron McDermott

Answer
Well Ron, these actually do have lifters, And the ticking is most likely due to a stuck lifter on the number 4 or six cylinder. Try using lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer with castrol 10w-40 oil, this helped tremendously on my rodeo. Or it could be a stuck valve or just carbon in the cylinder itself. Also do a carbon clean on your engine.
