Jaguar Repair: Car wont Start, neutral safety switch, jaguar xj6

Question
My 85 Jaguar xj6 has power when I turn the ignition, but neither the solenoid or starter is engaging. Have checked battery connections to the starter and solenoid and they are okay, have checked for corrosion in the lines also.  Is there a relay that I am missing between the ignition and the solenoid that is keeping the car from starting.

Answer
Hi Nevless,
The starter relay is on the firewall under the hood. It is the larger metal cased relay. remove the large white with red tracer wire from the relay and be sure the car is in park and brake on and touch the end of the wire to a jumper over to the positive post of the battery.
That activates the solenoid and is a test of the solenoid and starter motor and wiring and bypasses the ignition switch and the neutral safety switch on the transmission.
