QUESTION: ERIC THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY TO MY QUESTION IT HELPED ALOT.NOW I HAVE A DIFFERENT QUESTION IN REFERENCE TO THE SAME GRAND CHEROKEE,1997,4.0 ENG,LAREDO.IT DEALS WITH THE O2 SENSOR(S).THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ROUGH,IT COUGHS AND SPUTTERS AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON IS THAT A SYMPTOM OF A FAULTY O2 SENSOR AND IF SO HOW MANY ARE ON THIS VEHICLE AND WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.JASON

Answer
Yes it could very well be a sensor problem. on most jeeps there is 3 o2 sensors 1 on each bank of the exhaust and then one after the first set of cats. IF they are not working right it will show up if run a scan to see what codes come up. Get your jeep scanned and it will tell you what is wrong with it. hope this helps.
