Jeep Repair: 02 Jeep Liberty Sport a/c smells possibly smoking, ac compressors, jeep liberty

Hello, I recently turned my ac on and it was not really blowing cold air(on highway) sometimes i have had to turn to 3 or 4 for it to kick on, so i did that then when i was getting my exit, my jeep started to smell (similar to antifreeze but less intense, mostly a metal smell) It also looked like something was possibly smoking. What do you think is causing this? What could it cost to fix? Is it ok to still drive it?, I have not driven it since. Also my 4 wheel drive (part time light) is on when its not in part time and off when in part time, Is this common? How much would this cause to fix? I see AC compressors lock up all the time on Liberties.
Cost factor will depend on who U have do it and what kinda parts they use  have some one check it out.  AS for teh Light  U will need to have some one scan the Computer for that code if there is any.
