Jeep Repair: 88 jeep 2.5 ltr engine squeal, vacuum leak, squeal

Question
i have a 88 jeep jy with a 2.5 ltr.It seems that somewhere in the engine compartment (sounds like the front) it has a real loud squeal and i can't seem to find it. Originally it i thought it was the alternator so i had it rebuilt. then i found it wasn't that i replaced the water pump..also no difference. finally i removed aboth the belts to eliminate any thing up front the spins and it continues to squeal. i then replace the exaust gasket thinking it may be  an exhaust leak and still no difference, so now i'm at a loss....any ideas?
still searching

Answer
The only thing I could think of would be a strong vacuum leak.  I have seen intake manifolds have a cracked gasket and suck in air, causing a really high pitched squealing noise.  Other than that, i would have to hear the noise, to say anything else.  One thing you might try is taking a short piece of hose and hold it up to your ear, and move it around the engine and see if you find the noise.  Hope I could help!
