Land Rover Repair: 1996 Disco, auto electrician, becm

Today when i got in my truck i heard a loud constant noise similar to the door chime when you stick keys in ignition. all i have to do is press the disengage button and the noise remains. it only goes off when i place it back in park. any ideas?

Hi Keith,

just a guess -- could be electrical short in ignition switch, park/neutral switch (common problem) or BeCM has gone crazy.  Does it start and can you move it?  

Sounds to me like a ground fault problem somewhere...maybe an auto electrician could isolate this for you...
